Liverpool receive boost after Mario Gotze told to complete £20m transfer

Joachim Low explains why Mario Gotze could complete summer transfer amid Liverpool speculation

Joachim Low believes Mario Gotze should complete a summer transfer to kick-start his career amid relentless speculation linking the Bayern Munich forward with a move to Liverpool.

The World Cup winner won his third successive Bundesliga winner’s medal since Gotze moved to Pep Guardiola’s side in 2013 from their bitter rivals Borussia Dortmund.

However, Gotze has been heavily linked with a reunion with his former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, who is currently in charge of Europa League runners-up Liverpool.

Bayern and Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer has already told Gotze to follow Klopp to Liverpool after a disappointing three-year spell at the Allianz Arena.

And the 23-year-old’s national team manager Low believes a move would be good for the World Cup winner ahead of this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.

Gotze has scored three goals and has moved four assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances for the German champions this season.
