Liverpool receive boost as Bayern desperate to sell £20m star, claims insider
Jan Aage Fjortoft provides update on Liverpool target Mario Gotze
Bayern Munich are still desperate to offload Liverpool target Mario Gotze this summer, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft.
The Germany international’s future has been a source of relentness speculation in recent weeks after Gotze was heavily linked with a £20m switch to the 18-time English champions.
The World Cup winner was urged by Bayern legend Franz Beckenbaeur and Germany manager Joachim Low to change clubs in order to revive his stalling career.
However, Gotze was reported to have performed a u-turn earlier this week, with speculation suggesting that the 23-year-old wanted to stay at Bayern and play under incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti.
According to Bundesliga expert Fjortoft, Gotze’s proposed switch could still be on despite reports this week.

Gotze moved to Bundesliga champions Bayern in a £29m deal from Borussia Dortmund in 2013 following their Champions League final defeat at Wembley.
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season.
