Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge praised by £40m France striker

Antoine Griezmann sends message to Daniel Sturridge after Liverpool striker's Europa League final goal

Antoine Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks and the Atletico Madrid striker is certainly a fan of one England striker.

Daniel Sturridge started just his second Liverpool game in their last five European outings on Wednesday night as the Reds looked to win the Europa League for the first time in Basel.

The 26-year-old scored a brilliant opener as he curled a finish past Sevilla goalkeeper David Soria with the outside of his foot to break the deadlock in the first half.

Griezmann, who scored 22 times in 38 La Liga games this season, has been linked with a £50m move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months.

And the France international was a huge fan of Sturridge’s opener in the Europa League final.

Griezmann later took to Twitter after Kevin Gameiro levelled for Sevilla before Koke scored twice to seal a third successive Europa League trophy for the 18-time English champions.
