Liverpool to miss out on £45m Barcelona star – report
Liverpool have been priced out of a move to sign Aleix Vidal, according to Mundo Delportivo
Liverpool are set to give up their pursuit of Barcelona defender Aleix Vidal, according to reports in Spain.
The Reds are thought to be on the look out for a new left-back following Alberto Moreno’s poor performance in their 3-1 defeat by Sevilla in the Europa League final.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell and Lorient’s Portugal international Raphael Guerreiro in recent days.
However, Barcelona’s out-of-favour full-back Vidal was thought to be the leading target for Jurgen Klopp in his bid to strengthen the left-back spot.
According to Mundo Delportivo, Liverpool aren’t willing to meet Barcelona’s £45m valuation for the Spanish defender in the summer transfer window.
Vidal has made just 14 appearances for the La Liga champions since his move to the Catalan side from their La Liga rivals Sevilla in 2015.
The 26-year-old scored six times in 47 appearances for Los Rojiblancos in the 2014/15 season.
