Liverpool to target £8m Germany defender – report

Niklas Sule is a top target for Liverpool this summer, according to the Daily Mail

Liverpool are interested in signing Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule, according to reports in the British media.

Jurgen Klopp could be planning an overhaul of his defence in the summer transfer window, with Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure entering the final stages of their respective careers.

The Ivory Coast international’s current contract will expire at the end of the season, while Martin Skrtel was out-of-favour under Klopp in the final months of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, Sule is one of Klopp’s top defensive targets in the summer transfer window ahead of the arrival of Joel Matip agreed a deal to move to Anfield in January.

Sule made one assist in 33 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim in the 2015/16 season, establishing himself as a first-choice centre-half.
