Man United ready to rival Chelsea over £50m Brazil defender – report
Man United want to sign Chelsea target Marquinhos in the summer, according to reports in France
Manchester United are ready to provide Chelsea with competition for the signature of Marquinhos, according to reports in France.
The Brazil international has found his first-team opportunities limited at Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain over the past season given the centre-half partnership between his compatriots David Luiz and Thiago Silva.
The 22-year-old defender started just 20 Ligue 1 games for Laurent Blanc’s side despite moving to the French capital in a £31.4m deal from Serie A side Roma in 2013.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian over the past few months as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his defensive options at Stamford Bridge.
According to Telefoot, the Red Devils are ready to rival Chelsea over the £50m-rated defender in the summer transfer window ahead of Jose Mourinho’s reported appointment.
Former Corinthians defender Marquinhos has won three successive Ligue 1 titles and three French Cups during his three season at PSG.
