Man United ready to sign £40m Germany forward – report

Manchester United are eyeing up Schalke's £40m-rated forward Leroy Sane, according to the Daily Mail

Manchester United are monitoring Schalke forward Leroy Sane ahead of a potential transfer in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils were left frustrated in their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon teenager Renato Sanches last week after the Portuguese prospect joined Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

United have failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League after a disappointing campaign for Louis van Gaal, who is being linked with an exit this summer.

However, the 20-time English champions may have found an alternative to the highly-rated Sanches in the Bundesliga.

According to the Daily Mail, United are keeping close tabs on former Liverpool target Sane with a view to making an offer for the 20-year-old, who is valued at £40m.

United will host Bournemouth in their rescheduled final game of the Premier League season.
