Man United set to miss out on £65m France striker – report

Manchester United expected to suffer Antoine Griezmann blow, according to AS English

Manchester United are set to miss out on France striker Antoine Griezmann as the Atletico Madrid forward prepares to sign a new contract at Vicente Calderon, according to AS.

The 25-year-old is one of the most-coveted forward in Europe after another exception season for Los Rojiblancos, who will face bitter rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday 28 May.

Griezmann has scored 22 times in 38 La Liga games this term, while the French striker has played a vital role in Atletico’s run to the European final, netting seven goals in 12 Champions League games.

The 13-time Premier League winners were thought to be putting together a bid to sign the Atletico striker, who has a £65m contract release clause.

According to Spanish media outlet AS, Griezmann is ready to sign a long-term deal with Atletico despite reported interest from Premier League giants United and Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid.
