Man United still to make offer for £19m Brazil forward
Manchester United haven't made an offer for Gabriel Jesus, according to the Brazilian forward's agent
Manchester United still haven’t submitted a £19m offer for Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, according to his agent.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old forward in recent months after the forward won the Brazilian top flight’s best newcomer following his impressive performances for Palmeiras.
Gabriel has scored 15 times in 54 appearances in all competitions for the Brazilian club, which has attracted interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs like Barcelona and Juventus.
However, the Brazilian teenager’s agent claims that United still haven’t made an offer for the highly-rated forward despite recent speculation.
“There wasn’t even a contact, at least not with me or the player,” Simoes told Sport Witness.
“United are a world football force, everyone dreams of playing there, but the thing is not so simple.
“We need to analyse aspects regarding [Gabriel’s] adaptation to food, climate, language, social interaction, among other things.”
Gabriel is thought to have a £24m contract release clause amid continued interest from La Liga, the Premier League and Serie A.
The Red Devils signed France starlet Anthony Martial in a £36m deal from Ligue 1 side Monaco in last summer’s transfer window.
