Mesut Ozil sends message to Arsenal supporters after finishing above Tottenham

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil reacts on Twitter to Sunday's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at The Emirates

Mesut Ozil celebrated with Arsenal supporters on Twitter after the Gunners finished above Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table on Sunday afternoon.

Arsene Wenger’s side were 4-0 winners against relegated Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on the final day of the Premier League season to end a disappointing campaign on a high.

Tottenham, meanwhile, lost 5-1 to Newcastle United at St James’s Park as the Lilywhites extended their winless run to three games in the Premier League since a 2-2 defeat by Chelsea.

Arsenal managed to maintain their record of finishing above Tottenham thanks to Sunday’s win – and Ozil was quick to take to Twitter to celebrate their triumph over their north London rivals.

Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2004 after Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira inspired Wenger’s squad to an unbeaten top-fight campaign that secured the trophy.
