Paul Scholes makes bold prediction about Jose Mourinho and Man United

Paul Scholes backs Jose Mourinho to bring attacking football to Man United

Paul Scholes has backed Jose Mourinho to bring attacking football to Manchester United.

The 53-year-old was confirmed as the Red Devils manager on Friday morning after months of speculation linking Mourinho with the managerial position at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese coach hasn’t returned to management since he was sacked by Chelsea in December following a poor start to the Premier League season.

Mourinho has previously managed Portuguese side Porto, treble winners Inter Milan and Europe’s most-successful club side Real Madrid.

Former United midfielder Scholes, who was an outspoken critic of Mourinho’s predecessor Louis van Gaal, made a prediction about the type of football that the Red Devils will play under their new manager.

“He will bring a style of play that will entertain,” Scholes told BBC Sport.

“He’s done it before at Real Madrid and Chelsea.”

Mourinho won three Premier League titles, two FA Cups and three League Cups during two spells at the west London club/
