Robert Pires has confirmed that his son Theo has signed for Arsenal’s Academy via a post on social media.

Pires remains closely involved with affairs at the north London club after having hung up his playing boots earlier this year.

Now, the former France midfielder has revealed that his son is hoping to follow in his footsteps after signing for the north London club’s youth set-up.

Pires, 42, posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Saturday afternoon and wrote: “That’s it ! Theo signed for the Arsenal Academy!!! Well done son!!!! #proud”

Arsenal fans will be hoping that Theo can follow in the footsteps of his father, who was part of the north London side’s side’s unbeaten team in the 2003-04 season.
