Mesut Ozil looked to be in good spirits alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger as he reported for international duty with Germany on Tuesday after a brief holiday following the end of the Premier League season.

The Germany playmaker has enjoyed some well earned downtime in recent days after he helped Arsenal secure a second-placed finish in the Premier League.

Ozil was one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season, scoring six goals and making 19 assists in 35 games for Arsene Wenger’s men.

But the 27-year-old is now ready to shift his thinking to Germany and their preparations for this summer’s European championships in France.

Former Real Madrid star Ozil posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Tuesday evening and wrote: “After my short journey through the Arab world, the preparations for the #Euro2016 have finally started! #HelloAscona #RoadToFrance #ViveLaMannschaft #DieMannschaft #JederFürJeden”

Ozil – who joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 – enjoyed a solid season for the Gunners, scoring eight goals in all competitions for the north London side.
