Mesut Ozil delivers an update on social media ahead of Germany's friendly against Slovakia
Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to play down fears about his fitness levels after the playmaker revealed that he is set to miss Germany’s clash with Slovakia on Sunday.
The Arsenal star used his personal Instagram account to send a message to his fans and reveal that he would not be involved in the Euro 2016 warm-up game.
However, he moved to reassure his followers that he is fully fit, before wishing his team-mates good luck as they continue their preparations for this summer’s tournament in France.
Ozil posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Good luck to the team for tomorrow. I will stay in Ascona. But don’t worry – I’m fine 🏽#ViveLaMannschaft #GERSLK #RoadToFrance @dfb_team”
Ozil – who is expected to be a starter for Germany at Euro 2016 – was one of the Premier League’s standout performers last season, notching up 19 assists for his team-mates and scoring six goals.
He has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team since arriving at the north London club from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.
