Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has a message for Red Devils supporters

Bastian Schweinstieger may be sidelined with injury but the German midfielder is looking forward to Manchester United’s final home game of the season against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

The 31-year-old is currently sidelined with a knee injury which the World Cup winner suffered following a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the derby at The Etihad in February.

Louis van Gaal’s side still have an outside chance of finishing in the top four and booking their place in next season’s Champions League.

However, United will need Swansea City to beat fourth-placed City at the Liberty Stadium while the Red Devils need to take care of Bournemouth.

And Schweinsteiger issued a rallying cry to his United team-mates ahead of their clash against the Cherries on the final day of the Premier League season.

Schweinsteiger wrote on his Instagram page: “Last home game of the season at Old Trafford tomorrow! #mufc”

The Germany midfielder, who is still hoping to be fit for Euro 2016, moved to United in a £6.7m deal from Bayern Munich last summer.
