Danny Ings sends message to Liverpool fans after his comeback from knee injury
Danny Ings lifted the lid on his delight at being back in the Liverpool side after the striker made his comeback from injury in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with West Brom at The Hawthorns.
The Reds forward hadn’t made an appearance for Liverpool since he scored in a 1-1 draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park in October before Brendan Rodgers was sacked and replaced by Jurgen Klopp.
The England Under-21 international, who moved to the Reds from Burnley last summer, suffered a serious knee injury in one of Klopp’s early training sessions and sidelined for up to nine months with the injury problem.
And Ings, who replaced Jordon Ibe in the 64th minute of Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with West Brom at The Hawthorns on Sunday, took to Instagram to reflect on his big comeback from his knee injury.
Ings wrote: “Words can’t describe how it felt to be back out there today! Thanks everyone for your support!”
Liverpool will face reigning champions Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
