Jordan Henderson sends a message to Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho
Jordan Henderson has sent a message of congratulations to Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian cleaned up at Liverpool’s awards night.
The Brazil international has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s standout performers in a mixed season for the Merseyside outfit following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers in October.
Coutinho fought back from a hamstring injury to help inspire the Reds to the Europa League final where Liverpool will face Sevilla in Basel next Wednesday night.
The South American’s captain Henderson is facing an uphill battle to be fit for the European showpiece following his recent injury setback.
However, Henderson was pleased for Coutinho after the 24-year-old scooped four awards at Liverpool’s end-of-season bash on Thursday night.
Henderson wrote on his Instagram page: “Congratulations to @phil.coutinho for winning 4 awards last night, and also everyone else who won awards! Well deserved 👏🏻 @ec2323 @bradsmith_94 #YNWA”
Coutinho has scored eight times and has made five assists in 26 Premier League appearances this season.
The South American has also netted two goals and has made one assist in 12 Europa League games.
