Timothy Fosu-Mensah sends message to Manchester United fans

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is one of the big plus points from Manchester United’s largely disappointing season.

The 18-year-old full-back has impressed when called upon by under-pressure manager Louis van Gaal throughout the 2015/16 campaign.

The Dutch defender made his first-team debut in a 3-2 victory over Arsenal in February, starring alongside Marcus Rashford.

However, his best performance arguably came in a 3-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur, leaving the pitch with the Premier League clash goalless with 20 minutes to play, before United conceded three times.

And Fosu-Mensah, who has been tipped to have a big future by Ian Wright, sent a message to United’s fans on Instagram after he reached the 200,000 followers landmark.

He wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Thankyou #bestfans 🔴🔴🔴 #200”

The United teenager has started two Premier League games, but the Netherlands Under-21 international has made a further six appearances for the bench.
