Marko Grujic was clearly pleased to be called up to the Serbia squad ahead of a permanent move to Liverpool.

The 20-year-old agreed a transfer to Liverpool in January after the Reds struck a reported £5.1m deal with Red Star Belgrade for the playmaker.

Grujic returned to the Serbian club on loan until the end of the season and the youngster helped his boyhood club win the Serbian title.

The midfielder’s impressive form has resulted in a series of call-ups to the Serbia national team over the past couple of months.

And Grujic was seemingly delighted to be involved in the Serbia squad ahead of making the big switch to Merseyside later this summer.

Grujic posted the above photo and wrote: “National team🔴🔵⚪️🇷🇸”

The Serbian playmaker travelled to Merseyside earlier this month to explore his new surroundings.
