Loris Karius has taken to social media to reveal his pride after he completed his transfer to Liverpool on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper agreed a long-term contract with the Reds to tie up a move from Bundesliga side Mainz after completing a medical on Merseyside.

The shot-stopper has become Liverpool’s second new signing of the summer after a deal was agreed earlier this year to sign Joel Matip from Schalke.

And the goalkeeper was clearly thrilled to put pen to paper on his contract with Liverpool if his latest post on Instagram is anything to go by.

Karius shared the photos above on the app and sent a message to his former club Mainz, writing: “Very special day! Im proud to commit my long term future to Liverpool F.C.

“I cant wait to play at Anfield infront of these amazing supporters and make the next step in my career!

“But also i want to say thank you to everyone at Mainz 05 for the great years i spent at the club. I will never forget you and the memories we had together! #LK1 #2021 #Liverpoolfc #YNWA”
