Piers Morgan makes transfer claim that will worry Arsenal fans

The Arsenal shareholder says Mesut Ozil has been receiving transfer offers this summer...

Piers Morgan has taken to social media to claim that Mesut Ozil has been receiving transfer offers from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich this summer.

The German playmaker still has two years left to run on his Arsenal contract after firmly establishing himself as a favourite at Emirates Stadium.

Ozil was one of the Premier League’s standout performers last season as he notched up 19 assists for his team-mates as they finished second in the table.

However, Arsenal were forced to settle for a season without a trophy in Ozil’s third campaign at the north London club.

The Germany international’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks.

And Arsenal shareholder and celebrity fan Morgan has claimed that Ozil has been contacted by some of Europe’s top clubs about the prospect of a summer transfer away from the north London club.

Morgan tweeted on Friday morning:
