Ray Parlour is backing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to finish as the Premier League’s top goal-scorer.

The England striker has scored 25 times in 37 top-flight games for the Lilywhites this season, helping Mauricio Pochettino’s side to record the second-best goal record in the division.

However, the Premier League’s player of the year Jamie Vardy has found the back of the net on 24 occasions, while Manchester City super star Sergio Aguero has also scored 24 goals.

Kane and Tottenham make the trip to Newcastle United on Sunday and City journey to Swansea City in South Wales, while Vardy comes up against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is backing Kane to come out on top in the Premier League’s goal-scoring stakes.

“You’ve always got to go with Harry Kane, higher than Agüero at the start of the season to become top goal scorer, he’s quality he’s one of the best strikers in the Premier League,” Parlour told BetSafe.

“But Harry Kane has stepped up and been outstanding this year. Jamie Vardy can he get a couple of goals at Chelsea no John Terry not playing there so he might have an opportunity, but I am going to go with Harry Kane to hold on and win the golden boot.”

Kane was voted the PFA young player of the year last season after he scored 21 Premier League goals for Spurs.
