Rio Ferdinand reacts on Twitter to reports Man United have sacked Louis van Gaal

Rio Ferdinand reckons Jose Mourinho will be the next Manchester United manager

Rio Ferdinand has tipped Jose Mourinho to become the next Manchester United manager amid reports Louis van Gaal will be sacked on Monday.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager guided the Red Devils to their first trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013 after United were 2-1 winners against Crystal Palace in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for Jose Mourinho since the Portuguese coach was sacked by Chelsea in December following a disastrous start to the defence of their Premier League crown.

Former United defender Ferdinand is clearly under the impression that Mourinho will be taking over the reins at Old Trafford if Van Gaal has been sacked by the 20-time English champions.

The Red Devils have only won the FA Cup since Ferguson retired following a 13th Premier League title success in 2013.
