Robbie Folwer delivers frank verdict on Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea

Robbie Fowler delivers verdict on Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night

Robbie Fowler says Liverpool were lucky to rescue a point on Wednesday night after a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Anfield.

Guus Hiddink’s side appeared to be edging towards a rare Premier League away win after Eden Hazard scored a brilliant first-half opener for the visitors.

However, Liverpool rescued a point ahead of their Europa League final against Sevilla in Basel next week after Christian Benteke’s late equaliser.

Begovic misjudged Sheyi Ojo’s cross and the £32.5m Liverpool signing was on hand to nod the ball into the empty net and deny Chelsea three points.

And Fowler, in spite of his loyalties to the Reds, conceded that the west London side deserved three points after a superior performance at Anfield.

Liverpool will travel to West Bromwich Albion in their final game of the Premier League season on Sunday afternoon.
