Robbie Savage makes bold prediction about Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool

Robbie Savage says Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp needs to finish in the top four next season

Robbie Savage has warned Jurgen Klopp that he needs to guide Liverpool to a top-four finish next season.

The Reds finished in eighth place in his first campaign as manager at Anfield after Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers in October.

Liverpool had the chance to secure a place in the Champions League if the Reds beat Sevilla in the Europa League final.

However, Klopp’s side squandered a 1-0 half-time lead thanks to Daniel Sturridge’s opener to lose 3-1 to the reigning champions following goals from Kevin Gameiro and Coke.

Former Manchester United midfielder Savage warned Klopp that he must secure a Champions League qualifying spot in his first full season in charge at Anfield.

“His target for the 2016-17 campaign should, however, be set in stone already: A top-four finish, bringing a return of Champions League football to Anfield,” Savage wrote in The Mirror.

“So far, he has given fans every reason to believe he can deliver it.”

Liverpool haven’t qualified for the Champions League since 2014 when the Reds finished in second place behind Manchester City.
