Scott Parker believes Mauricio Pochettino is putting down foundations for a long reign at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lilywhites drew 2-2 with bitter rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday night to hand the Premier League title to Leicester City.

Pochettino is changing the culture of Spurs. He is turning them into a long-term team

Tottenham have been one of the season’s most-impressive sides following the emergence of Dele Alli and the outstanding form of Harry Kane.

Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Spurs in the Premier League, while Pochettino’s side have the best defensive record in the English top flight.

Former Tottenham midfielder Parker, who played for the north London side between 2011 and 2013, believes the Spurs manager is changing the culture at White Hart Lane.

“I am a massive admirer of what Mauricio Pochettino has done at Spurs,” Parker told Sky Sports.

“Pochettino is changing the culture of Spurs. He is turning them into a long-term team.

“In the past, we’ve seen Tottenham do well in certain games. But Mauricio Pochettino is creating a culture there that is going to last. He is there for the long-term.”

Tottenham are in second place in the Premier League table and three points ahead of north London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League table.
