Arsenal leading the race to sign £20m Bundesliga playmaker – report
Arsenal are the only Premier League club to submit an offer for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Squawka
Arsenal are the only Premier League club to have submitted an offer for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Squawka.
The Armenia international has been linked with a move to England in recent months amid initial interest from deposed Premier League champions Chelsea.
However, Arsenal emerged as front-runners to sign the 27-year-old as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the 2016/17 season.
The Dortmund midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola revealed that Mkhitaryan is holding out for a move to their bitter rivals United on Tuesday afternoon in what represented a blow to Arsenal’s hopes of signing a second midfielder from the Bundesliga following Granit Xhaka’s acquisition.
However, according to Squawka, Arsenal are the only Premier League club to have submitted a bid for the Dortmund playmaker despite the player seemingly preferring a move to the Red Devils.
