Arsenal and Liverpool have seen big-money bids rejected for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, according to reports.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is thought to be keen to bolster his attacking options at Anfield amid speculation surrounding Christian Benteke’s future at the Merseyside outfit beyond the summer.
Arsenal have also been linked with a number of strikers in the summer transfer window, including Juventus forward Alvaro Morata and Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain.
Slimani has emerged as a potential target for the Premier League rivals in recent weeks following an excellent season for the Portuguese outfit in all competitions.
According to the Daily Express, Sporting have turned down identical £30m bids for Slimani from Arsenal and Liverpool, with Leicester City also thought to be knee on the 26-year-old.
Algeria international Slimani netted 33 times in 46 games in all competitions for club and country last season, attracting interesting from a host of Europe’s top clubs.
