Arsenal have made a surprise bid to sign striker Takuma Asano this summer, according to reports.

The Gunners are known to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

Wenger has already moved quickly to wrap up the signing of midfielder Granit Xhaka as the club’s first summer signing.

The Frenchman has already signalled his intention to sign a new striker this summer with Arsenal’s failed bid to lure Jamie Vardy to The Emirates.

Now, the Daily Express is reporting that Arsenal have made a bid to sign Sanfrecce Hiroshima striker Asano.

Asano has scored 20 goals in 75 games for his club and has picked up four senior caps with Japan.
