Arsenal open talks over double Premier League transfer swoop – report

Arsenal want to sign both Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, say reports

Arsenal are in talks to sign both Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City this summer, according to reports.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move to bring Vardy to The Emirates after the north Londoners reportedly triggered the £20m release clause in his contract with the Foxes.

Arsene Wenger is believed to be on the lookout for a number of new players as he bids to revamp his squad ahead of next season.

Mahrez was one of the Premier League’s top performers last season, scoring 17 goals and making 10 assists to help Claudio Ranieri’s men win the title.

Now, The Sun is reporting that Arsenal are in talks to lure the playmaker to The Emirates in a double deal involving both him and Vardy.

The same report goes on to say that Wenger was surprised by how low the Algeria international’s release clause is, although the figure has not been disclosed.
