Arsenal to rival Chelsea for £23.8m Inter Milan defender – report
Chelsea target Jeison Murillo is a target for Arsenal, according to the Daily Express
Arsenal are ready to rival Chelsea for the signing of Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo, according to reports.
The 24-year-old defender was a regular fixture in the Inter side last season as he racked up 35 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit.
Murillo, who scored a credible two goals in 34 top-flight games in his first season in Italy, moved to Inter from Spanish side Granada last summer.
Italy head coach Antonio Conte is set to take over the reins of Chelsea following Euro 2016 and the ex-Juventus manager has been linked with a host of Serie A defenders since his appointment was confirmed earlier this year.
However, the west London side could face competition from their Premier League rivals Arsenal for the Colombia international in this summer’s transfer window.
According to the Daily Express, Arsenal want to bring the Inter defender to the Premier League as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his defensive options.
