Arsenal turn to Brazilian forward as Wenger steps up transfer plans – report
Arsenal want to sign Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa this summer, according to reports
Arsenal are keen to sign Brazilian starlet Gabriel Barbosa this summer as Arsene Wenger prepares to ramp up the Gunners’ transfer business after Euro 2016, according to reports.
The north London club have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks as Wenger looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
However, despite all of the speculation, the north London side have only thus far signed midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer.
Wenger has already signalled his intention to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates with a bid sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester.
Now, Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli is reporting that Arsenal are keen to sign 19-year-old Santos forward Barbosa, also known as ‘Gabigol’.
However, Giulianelli also expects Arsenal to only ramp up their interest in their second signing after the conclusion of Euro 2016 in France.
He tweeted:
Santos forward Gabigol is also on the Arsenal radar. After Euros the club will work hard to take new players.
