Arsenal winning race to sign £20m Bundesliga star – report

Arsenal are reportedly ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund

Arsenal are winning the race to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to reports.

The north London side have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks as Arsene Wenger bids to revamp his squad ahead of what could be his final season in charge at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have already bolstered their midfield options this summer by signing Granit Xhaka last month.

Arsenal are also believed to be closing in on the signing of Jamie Vardy from Leicester City as Wenger looks to add to his attacking line-up at The Emirates.

Another man to have been heavily linked with a move to north London is Dortmund star Mkhitaryan, who has also reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea.

Now, The Sun is reporting that the midfielder has told Arsenal that he would favour a move to Emirates Stadium over Stamford Bridge in what is likely to be a deal worth around £20m.

Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season.
