Barcelona star tells Philippe Coutinho to consider Liverpool exit
Dani Alves urges Philippe Coutinho to consider a move away from Liverpool this summer
Dani Alves has urged Philippe Coutinho to consider leaving Liverpool to join Barcelona this summer.
Coutinho has quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s top playmakers since his transfer to the club from Inter Milan back in January 2013.
The attacking midfielder has been a regular fixture in the Liverpool team since his move to Merseyside but he was unable to help propel Jurgen Klopp’s men to a top-four finish last season.
With Liverpool set to have to make do without European football next term, Brazil full-back Alves believes that Coutinho should consider a transfer away from Anfield this summer.
Alves is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo: “Football is about living the moment.
“Liverpool have history but you should consider playing for top Champions League sides.
“He has the quality to play for Barcelona.”
Coutinho’s future has long been a source of speculation, with the playmaker having been touted as a target for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the past.
Klopp is preparing for his first full season in charge at Anfield.
