Cesc Fabregas sends strong message to new Chelsea manager
Cesc Fabregas is hoping he can help Spain end Antonio Conte's involvement in Euro 2016
Cesc Fabregas has told Antonio Conte that he is hoping the manager will be focused on his Chelsea job from Tuesday as Spain prepare to take on Italy at Euro 2016.
Conte is currently on duty with Italy at Euro 2016 in France and is preparing his side for their last-16 clash against Spain on Monday afternoon.
The Italian coach has been confirmed as Chelsea’s new manager and is set to officially take charge at Stamford Bridge after his involvement at Euro 2016.
Fabregas has revealed that he has held conversations with Conte and is looking forward to working with him at Chelsea next season.
However, the Spaniard is determined to help his country knock Conte’s side out of Euro 2016 on Monday afternoon.
Fabregas is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “I met Conte briefly and he made a very good impression.
“He is a great Coach, a winner. He told me what he wants from me, what he wants to do at Chelsea and various other things that will remain private.
“I really want to start working with him. Now I hope he can get to work at Chelsea as soon as possible. Hopefully from Tuesday he can concentrate on his new job.”
Chelsea appointed Conte as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor last season after their disastrous campaign last term resulted in them missing out on a place in Europe.
