Chelsea blow as £32m striker prepares to force Atletico move – report
Chelsea striker Diego Costa wants to return to Atletico Madrid this summer, according to AS English
Diego Costa is ready to force through a move to Atletico Madrid this summer, according to AS English.
The Spain international endured a difficult second season at the west London club as Chelsea struggled under Jose Mourinho and his interim successor Guus Hiddink.
Costa scored 20 times in 26 Premier League appearances as the Blues won the title in 2015 but the 27-year-old only managed to find the net 12 times last term.
Mourinho paid £32m for the striker in 2014 as Chelsea signed the controversial Brazilian-born star from Atletico following los Rojiblancos’s La Liga success under Diego Simeone.
According to AS English, Costa is desperate to secure a return to the Spanish capital this summer ahead of Antonio Conte’s arrival at Stamford Bridge following Euro 2016.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata this summer, although the Blues are expected to face competition from Arsenal and Real Madrid.
