Chelsea blow as Roma prepare to offer £28m Belgium midfielder new contract – report
Roma offer Chelsea target Radja Nainggolan a new contract this summer, according to reports in Italy
Chelsea look set to miss out on Radja Nainggolan as Roma prepare to offer the Belgium midfielder a new contract, according to reports in Italy.
The 28-year-old has been a long-term target for the west London side and new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is thought to be keen on the Serie A star.
Nainggolan was unable to inspire Marc Wilmots’s Belgium side to victory in their Euro 2016 opener after the Red Devils lost 2-0 to Conte’s Italy outfit earlier this week.
While the new Blues manager was delighted with the Azzurri’s winning start, Conte looks set to be disappointed in the race to sign the Belgium midfielder this summer.
According to a report in Corriere della Sera, Serie A side Roma are set to offer Nainggolan a new contract to deter interest from the four-time Premier League champions.
The Belgium star scored six times and made one assist in 35 Serie A appearances last season.
