Chelsea boost as £23m striker nears Juventus exit – report
Chelsea remain in the hunt to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports in England
Chelsea are still in the hunt to sign Alvaro Morata as the Juventus striker nears a return to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, according to reports in England.
The Spain international is thought to be on the brink of a £23m return to Los Blancos as Madrid prepare to activate their buyback clause in Morata’s Juventus contract.
Morata has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A champions in the summer transfer window amid Premier League interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Champions League holders are reportedly planning to sell Morata once a deal with Juventus is complete in an attempt to swiftly double their money on the Spanish forward.
According to Get West London Sport, Chelsea are waiting in the wings as Antonio Conte plots a deal for the striker as the incoming manager looks to bolster his attacking options.
Chelsea finished in ninth place in the Premier League table last season.
