Chelsea in control of race to sign £20m Premier League midfielder – report

Chelsea are in control of the race to sign Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante this summer, according to Daily Mirror.

The France international is one of the most-coveted midfielders in Europe after the 25-year-old helped to inspire the Foxes to Premier League glory last season.

Kante netted one goal in 37 top-flight appearances for the reigning English champions last season after he moved to the King Power Stadium from French side Caen.

The Leicester star has been linked with a move to Champions League holders Real Madrid and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and United.

According to Daily Mirror, Chelsea are confident that they are leading the race to sign the £20m midfielder ahead of interest from some of their biggest Premier League rivals.

Chelsea finished in ninth place in the Premier League table last season after a disappointing defence of their top-flight crown after winning the title in May 2015.
