Chelsea to join race to sign £31m striker – report

Chelsea are ready to make a bid to sign Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi this summer, say reports

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi in a £31m deal, according to reports.

The Blues are yet to make any signings this summer following the appointment of Antonio Conte as the west London club’s new manager.

Conte is set to officially take over at Stamford Bridge after Euro 2016 but the Italian coach is thought to be working hard on bringing a number of players to Chelsea during the transfer window.

Now, the Daily Mirror is reporting that striker Batshuayi has emerged as a surprise target for the west London club.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with both West Ham and Tottenham touted as possible destinations.

But the newspaper report says that Chelsea are now keen to make a move to bring the forward to the Premier League.
