Chelsea to make second transfer bid for Napoli defender – report
Chelsea will make a second bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Kouibaly, according to the Daily Mirror
Chelsea are ready to make a second offer for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Blues are looking to strengthen their defence ahead of Antonio Conte’s first Premier League campaign in charge of the west London side following his appointment earlier this year.
Chelsea centre-half Kurt Zouma is currently recovering from a serious knee injury, while Gary Cahill and John Terry struggled with a loss of form in the 2015/16 Premier League season.
Italy head coach Conte is thought to be keen on Napoli centre-half Koulibaly, making 33 appearances for the Serie A runners-up.
According to Daily Mirror, Chelsea have already had one bid rejected for the Senegalese defender but the Blues will launch a second offer for the 25-year-old defender.
The African has scored one goal in 81 appearances in all competitions for Napoli during two seasons at the Serie A club.
Koulibaly moved to Napoli from Belgian side Racing Genk in 2014.
