Chelsea told to bid £20m to land transfer target – report
Chelsea will reportedly have to shell out £20m to sign Roma defender Antonio Rudiger this summer
Chelsea have been told that they will need to shell out at least £20m to sign Roma defender Antonio Rudiger this summer, according to reports.
The Blues are believed to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements as Antonio Conte prepares for his first full season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are looking for cover in the defensive positions, with John Terry likely to leave the club at the end of next season after recently signing a new one-year deal with the Blues.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have been heavily linked with a move to sign Rudiger this summer.
Now, the Daily Express is reporting that the Premier League club have tabled a bid of around £17m to land the player – but that the Serie A side are only willing to listen to offers of £20m or more.
The same story goes on to say that Roma are open to selling the defender to the Premier League outfit, so long as they match their asking price for the player.
