Chelsea will need to pay as much as £42m if they want to sign Andre Gomes from Valencia this summer, say reports
Chelsea have been told that they will need to fork out £42m to sign Andre Gomes from Valencia this summer, according to reports.
The Blues are believed to be on the lookout for a number of players in the summer transfer window as Antonio Conte prepares for his first season in charge of the club.
Valencia midfielder Gomes has been touted as a possible target for the west London club as Conte looks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of next season.
Now, the Daily Mirror is reporting that Chelsea will have to pay as much as £42m to land the player after making an initial approach to sign the Portugal midfielder.
The same report says that Chelsea have turned to the 22-year-old after failing in their attempts to sign Radja Nainggolan from Roma this summer.
However, Valencia have put a huge price-tag on Gomes in the summer transfer window because Benfica have a 25 per cent sell-on clause.
