Club chief delivers latest update on Gonzalo Higuain’s future amid Liverpool link – report

Gonzalo Higuain will make a decision about his future this summer as he continues to be linked with Liverpool, say reports

Gonzalo Higuain will make a decision about his future this summer, according to Napoli president Aurellio De Laurentiis.

The Argentina striker has long been linked with a transfer to the Premier League and was touted as a possible target for Arsenal last summer.

Liverpool, however, appear to be leading the race to sign the forward this year after Jurgen Klopp was spotted in the stands during Argentina’s most recent Copa America game.

Now, the Daily Express is reporting that Napoli are desperate to convince Higuain to stay at the Serie A club and are prepared to offer him a deal worth £100,000 a week.

The same report says that both Chelsea and Liverpool are keen to sign the player, who is said to have a £74m release clause in his contract with Napoli.
