David De Gea: What Jose Mourinho will bring to Man United

David De Gea is thrilled by Jose Mourinho's arrival at Manchester United...

David De Gea has expressed his delight at seeing Jose Mourinho appointed as Manchester United’s new manager.

The Portuguese coach signed a three-year contract with the Red Devils last month after relentless speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.

Mourinho’s appointment came after United opted to sack Louis van Gaal at the end of the season following the club’s fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.

Their decision to sack Van Gaal came just two days after the Dutchman led United to the FA Cup title.

However, De Gea is confident that Mourinho is the right man for the job at Old Trafford and is backing the former Chelsea boss to bring success to the club.

Speaking in an interview with Cadena Ser, Spain international goalkeeper De Gea said: “We hope that Mourinho, with his will to win, will make sure United to return to the top.

“I have not spoken with Mourinho and not asked team-mates about him. I think we already know him.

“At United we’ve missed a manager like Mourinho. With the personality and mindset of a winner. Getting him was right.”
