Dwight Yorke: Only these four Man United players safe under Jose Mourinho
Dwight Yorke is predicting a busy summer for Manchester United following Jose Mourinho's appointment as manager
Dwight Yorke has claimed that only David De Gea, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney are safe from the axe under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The Portuguese coach finally signed a three-year deal with the Red Devils to become their new manager last week after days of speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.
Attentions have now inevitably already turned towards the summer transfer window and Mourinho’s plans to revamp his squad ahead of his first season at Old Trafford.
Reports in the British media in recent days have suggested that Mourinho is open to selling Juan Mata and Daley Blind this summer.
But former United star Yorke feels that not many players are safe from the axe following Mourinho’s appointment at the club.
Speaking exclusively to 888sport, Yorke said: “Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon but it’s just rumours in the media.
“We obviously know about Mata and Jose and that hasn’t changed and there will be a few players under the microscope who aren’t Manchester United players who somehow got in there.
“They’ve underperformed and no-one is safe apart from De Gea, Martial, Rashford and Rooney.
“Everyone in between will be looking over their shoulders.”
Mourinho was appointed last week just days after United opted to sack Louis van Gaal following the club’s fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.
