Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-finals of the French Open in Paris after beating Tomas Berdych in straight sets

Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-finals of the French Open after beating Tomas Berdych in straight sets on Thursday.

The world No1 and top seed in Paris won 6-3 7-5 6-3 and will face Austrian 13th seed Dominic Thiem in the last four.

The loss was Berdych’s 24th from 26 matches against Djokovic.

The 29-year-old Serbian is aiming to win his first French Open title and complete the career Grand Slam.

Thiem beat 12th seed David Goffin 4-6 7-6 (9-7) 6-4 6-1 to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final in Paris.
