Gianluigi Buffon sends message to Chelsea fans

Gianluigi Buffon tells Chelsea supporters what to expect from Antonio Conte next season

Gianluigi Buffon is convinced that Antonio Conte will be a big success at Chelsea next season.

Conte is currently on duty with Italy at Euro 2016 but is set to take charge at Stamford Bridge after the tournament following his appointment as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor at the club.

The Italy coach is gearing up for his first taste of the Premier League and is already thought to have set about revamping his squad ahead of his first season in England.

Buffon is currently working under Conte at Euro 2016, and the Italian goalkeeper is certain that Conte will be a success in London.

He also told Chelsea fans what to expect from Conte’s team as they prepare for their first season under the Italian coach.

Buffon is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “Conte is a big coach and I’m convinced he will be an excellent one at Chelsea.

“A Conte team is strong in defence and works constantly, day to day.

“Conte is a coach with an idea very simple.

“For the players he makes it very clear. He wants to play without risk in the defensive line and to exploit the opportunities to score goals when they come.”

Chelsea sacked Mourinho last December after a disastrous start to their Premier League title defence under the Portuguese coach.
