Jamie Carragher is hoping Olivier Giroud continues to deliver in France...

Jamie Carragher has taken to social media to reveal that he placed a bet on Olivier Giroud to finish as the tournament’s top goal-scorer at Euro 2016.

The France international has come in for plenty of criticism over the years for failing to deliver on a consistent basis for club and country.

Giroud struggled to find consistent form for Arsenal in the Premier League last season as the Gunners finished second in the Premier League table, 10 points behind champions Leicester City.

However, Didier Deschamps chose Giroud as the man to lead France’s attack in their opening group game against Romania on Friday night and the decision paid dividends, as the Arsenal striker headed in the hosts’ opener in the second half.

And former Liverpool defender Carragher was quick to take to Twitter to reveal that he has backed the Arsenal man to finish as top scorer in France at odds of 12/1.
