Jamie Vardy provides Arsenal transfer update
Jamie Vardy discusses speculation linking striker with a move to Arsenal
Jamie Vardy has addressed speculation linking the Leicester City striker with a move to Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has targeted the Premier League winner as a marquee summer signing with the Gunners reported to have activated the striker’s contract release clause.
The Foxes striker scored 24 times in 36 Premier League games for the English champions – only Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane netted more goals than his England colleague.
Vardy has also been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in recent days as the Leicester star waits until after Euro 2016 to make a decision on his future.
England striker Vardy discussed speculation linking the 29-year-old with a big-money move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
“It’s been easy (to shut that out),” Vardy is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
“I’m here to concentrate and focus on England and that’s all I’m going to be doing and now we’ll just get back on that training field and focus on the next match.”
Vardy was one of the key players in Leicester’s successful Premier League title campaign alongside N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez.
Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season.
